Kyle Fisher - President

What’s your life story (in two sentences or less)?

Born and raised in Alaska where I was elected to city council and was selected as one of the “Top 40 under forty professionals.” Decided to move to Texas for a few years before accepting an offer from Zebra and relocated to Minnesota.

What makes you unique from the people you work with at Zebra?

I bring a unique mixture of problem solving for large multinational businesses down to the single location business, across multiple industries. Pair that with my love and knowledge of the MMA industry makes me excited to tackle issues for our company and for our customers.

What is your favorite part about working with Zebra’s customers?

The best part is when you can help them achieve their dream of owning their own gym or studio, which is uniquely tailored and customized to what they want to train and practice. When we can take their vision and represent that through our products and design, we all take pride in the results.

If you were opening a gym or yoga studio, which products would be your must-haves? Why?

Custom Logos on everything. You want your studio represent your brand and to be noticed on social media, TV, or on print. The best way to do this is customizing everything with your logo on it.

Also add fitness equipment, it doesn’t matter what type of space you have, don’t give your members a need to join another gym. Have the weights, the equipment, the mats, and the accessories to service them and their family at one location. I think multiplatform offerings are the key to long term customer retention.

What else do you want customers to know about you?

We want to be creative. If there is something we can help the gym accomplish through promotion, customization, financing, or anything else let us know. Contact me and we can brainstorm anything and everything to try and find a way to help each business owner be successful!

Bo Maki - Customer Support/Project Management

What sports or activities were you involved in growing up?

In high school I was a three-sport athlete: football, hockey and lacrosse. I continued to play lacrosse in college for the University of St. Thomas.

What sports or activities are you involved in today? How long have you been participating in these and what types of achievements have you reached?

I play men’s league lacrosse. My lacrosse career is 10 years long so far; in those years I have a state championship, an All State Award, two national championships and an All American Honorable Mention.

What is your role with Zebra? What does an average day look like for you?

I am a part of the support staff. I help the sales representatives with anything they need and work through any issues that customers may have. Honestly, I don’t have an average day, it is always something new, and I really like that.

What makes you unique from the people you work with at Zebra?

I take my shoes off when I’m at work. I think it helps me concentrate better.

Which customer facilities have been your favorite to work with? Why?

Alchemy365. It was the first big project that required a lot of new products from us. It challenged me to come up with the best solutions. Also, it is a local company that I work out at, and using the very products I helped them with is a pretty cool experience.

What’s your life story (in two sentences or less)?

I was born and raised in a suburb outside of Minneapolis, MN with a family consisting of my parents and three siblings. I went through 16 years of education, which lead me to my job here at Zebra.

What sports or activities are you involved in today? How long have you been participating in these and what types of achievements have you reached?

I am now an avid golfer. I recently picked up the game and now I can’t put the clubs down. I wish I could have learned it at a younger age. It is a beautiful but very frustrating game. I never stop learning.

What makes you unique from the people you work with at Zebra?

The unique part about me is that I am the owner’s son. My Father Chuck started Zebra and is still the CEO to this day. This company is in my blood and I have a very strong passion to one day follow in my father’s footsteps and become the owner.

What is your favorite part about working with Zebra’s customers?

My Favorite part about working with our customers is understanding their passion for what they are doing. It is such a cool feeling to be able to assist someone in making a dream become a reality. Whether that dream is a several thousand square foot facility or just a home gym, these people are coming to us for help creating something they love.

Where do you see Zebra in 5 years? 10 years?

I see Zebra being a worldwide brand for Yoga flooring. We have the floor that I truly believe the yoga community has been looking for. The Zebra Mats brand is a world-renowned product and the Zebra Yoga floor is not far behind.

Tony Jenniges - Sales Executve

What sports or activities were you involved in growing up?

When I was in elementary school, our family name was well known in wrestling, so I carried on the tradition. I started grappling on the mats when I was in third grade and continued until I was in eighth grade when we moved. In high school, I earned my way to becoming the starting quarterback for our football team my junior and senior year. I played basketball all four years of high school and I was on the varsity baseball team all four years of high school.

If you had a theme song for your day-to-day, what would it be?

My theme song would be “Dream on” by Aerosmith because everyone has a dream, including my customers. I enjoy helping my customers make their dreams of owning and outfitting their own gym come true.

What is your role with Zebra? What does an average day look like for you?

My current role at Zebra is Sales Consultant. My average day starts early in the morning. I like to arrive at work early so I have a chance to go through my notes, check in with my customers on Facebook, and plan out my day. I spend my day working with customers, answering their questions, and assisting them with their facilities. My day never ends at 5:00 pm, especially if I am in the middle of helping a customer. I will do what it takes to help my customers, even if it means talking with them after hours. If it’s important to you, it’s important to me.

What is your favorite part about working with Zebra’s customers?

I enjoy getting to know my customers and learning about their dreams and finding ways to make their dreams of a new facility come true. My customers know they are going to get the best when they work with me: prompt, friendly service and a superior product. When my customers purchase Zebra mats they become part of our Zebra family.

What makes Zebra different from the competition?

Our Zebra mats are the best in the world. Nothing else even comes close.  Our customers know they will be training on the best and safest mats and they know we stand behind our product.

We also provide outstanding customer service and treat our customers as family. Everyone on our team is willing to help each other out to get the job done.

What’s your life story (in two sentences or less)?

Born and Raised in Minnesota; 15-year veteran of the U.S. Army as a 19 Delta. I have been married for 15 years and have a Stepson who is 24.

What sports or activities are you involved in today?

I Coach Baseball, at an elite level; for the Minnesota Blizzard, for the past 14 seasons… Minus a couple years for Combat Tours overseas. I’ve played Competitive softball at the Men’s Major’s Level, and am also a certified Combatives Instructor in the U.S. Army.

What makes you unique from the people you work with at Zebra?

My life experience differs from my colleagues in that I didn’t go to college until after I had spent over a decade in the Military. Even then, my degree is in Criminal Justice; not business. I had originally planned a career as a U.S. Marshal, but at the time I was finishing my degree, I had just returned from Iraq; so things were still unsettled for me. Luckily, my training in Combatives had served me well to speak intelligently about Martial Arts and MMA, which made this an easy career choice. As it is, I felt comfortable here and decided this is where I belonged.

What makes Zebra different from the competition?

Loyalty and Service. We’ve got a long standing history in the Mat Market, because you can’t argue with durability. We have clients that are still training on Zebra Mats over 15 years old. Who else can make that claim? Our production methods are the standard by which every other company is measured. When our competitors cut corners or use fancy marketing to lure new buyers, it kills the market, and makes people cautious. In other words, by trying to make things cheaper, they’ve ended up making them worse. Competitors have tried to match our quality for years, and you can’t fool people into sacrificing quality, which is immediately evident. The old adage rings true; you get what you pay for.

We’ve also received more positive customer comments in the past 12 months, than at any other time in our history. This tells me, we are doing what no one else in the world does; going above and beyond.

What else do you want customers to know about you?

I don’t want your facility to survive, I want it to thrive. We want to promote your space and bring people to your door. When going into business, you have to ask yourself, “what makes me different from the facility down the street?” When people search for a place to train, you have to offer them something they can’t get anywhere else. I am here to help make that a reality.

Nick Bez - Marketing Director

What sports or activities were you involved in growing up?

Lacrosse, Football, Track & Field (let’s be honest, mostly field!).

What other hobbies do you have or like to do in your spare time?

I enjoy playing with basic graphic design, hiking and camping with my wife, playing Legos with my youngest son and creating playlists for yoga and yoga fusion classes.

What makes you unique from the people you work with at Zebra?

I’m likely to be the only one wearing flip-flops in February!

What is your favorite part about working with Zebra’s customers?

One of the most fulfilling parts of working with Zebra customers is being able to support entrepreneurs as they turn their dreams and their passions into realities!

What makes Zebra different from the competition?

It is the combination of product offering, versatility and the company’s hunger to innovate more complete solutions for individual consumers and business clients.
